Why Omiš?
This small town has it all: nature, adventure, and history; just within 30 minutes of Split.
Omiš is located right where the Cetina River meets the Adriatic Sea. It used to be a pirate town. Literally. Pirates ruled these waters from the 12th to 14th century, hiding in the cliffs and attacking ships for gold.
Now? It’s a laid back spot with beaches, epic views, and one of the best zip lines in Croatia.
How to Get to Omiš from Split

Things to Do in Omiš
1. Starigrad Fortress (Fortica Hike)
Start point: From Omiš old town, follow signs uphill
Duration: 45 to 60 minutes up
Difficulty: Moderate
Best time: Before 10 AM to avoid heat
What you'll see: Insane 360° views of islands, river, and town
Cost: €3 entrance fee at the top
Bring water. No shops on the way. Recommended wearing shoes, not flip flops for the hike and activities.

2. Velika Plaza (Main Sandy Beach)
Walk from town center: 5 minutes
Best for: Swimming, relaxing, sandy beach (rare in Croatia)
Amenities: Showers, beach bars, sunbed rentals

3. Zipline Omiš or Fun Adventures

Canyoning, Rafting, Climbing, Kayaking

A really good and fun alternative to Zip lining is for instance River rafting on the Cetina river, you slide down the river with your own body, at some point you do some Rappelling and go on a little hike as well, all with the same rafting tour from Iris adventures.
